In which applications can GeneFire aerosol fire suppression systems be used?GeneFire manufactures advanced aerosol fire suppression systems for a variety of applications such as: Shipping vessels and containers Power generation and energy Storage Manufacturing & industrial facilities Apartment and office buildings Data storage and server rooms Oil and gas industry Electric motor vehicles and charging stations Railway and transportation Military armored vehicles Kitchens and restaurants Laboratories and fume hoods Marine and offshore
-
Which types of fires can be suppressed using GeneFire aerosol systems?GeneFire aerosol fire suppression systems are rated for use in extinguishing class A fires from ordinary combustibles, class B fires from flammable liquids, class C fires from electrical devices and class K fires from cooking oils and grease.
-
Do GeneFire aerosol fire suppression systems require maintenance? Our aerosol fire suppression systems are basically maintenance free and only require inspection once a year to ensure the system is still functioning optimally.
-
How do GeneFire aerosol systems suppress fire?GeneFire fire suppression systems use advanced aerosol technology to quickly and effectively suppress and extinguish fires. The system houses an aerosol generating composition (AGC) which is a proprietary mixture of chemicals. An ignition device (electrical, thermal or mechanical) is used to start the combustion process to produce aerosol which contains certain particles that separate oxygen from the fuel. Aerosol radicals secure and remove C, H & CH from the flame chain reaction without depleting oxygen and rapidly extinguishing the flames. Due to the minute size of the particles (5-10 micrometers), they remain suspended for 30 to 40 minutes, thus inhibiting possible re-ignition of the fire.

What are some of the advantages of using GeneFire Aerosol Fire Suppression systems?Self-operating GeneFire fire extinguishing systems have detection, suppression and alarm functions, also an independent power source. The system is self-operating and fully automated. Versatile The aerosol technology provides reliable protection for a wide range of fire hazards. GeneFire systems can be safely used in any environment from data centers to engine compartments for all types of transportation. Non-damaging GeneFire fire extinguishing aerosol will not harm the protected object including electronic equipment, magnetic media, valuable collections and more. Easily maintained GeneFire extinguishing aerosol systems require no pressurization, manifolds, nozzles or piping. They also do not require recharging so they are always ready for action! Efficient All GeneFire models are 40 times as effective as an equivalent-sized inert gas extinguisher. Our research and development team has produced one of the most efficient extinguishing agents to date. Cost Effective A direct comparison study revealed just how cost effective GeneFire aerosol fire suppression systems are compared to other systems on the market such as carbon dioxide, inert gas, both low and high water pressure systems. Because GeneFire aerosol systems do not require piping or pressure cylinders the cost of installation is minimal and very convenient. Eco-Friendly No global warming potential, no ozone depletion potential, and non-toxic.

How do GeneFire aerosol systems suppress fire inside of shipping containers?Aerosol is the only practical system available for suppressing fires inside of shipping containers. GeneFire systems are comprised of portable units which are mounted inside a container for the duration of its carriage of dangerous goods. It consists of 4 parts: 1. Fire-extinguishing aerosol generator, for the elimination of fire. The generator’s power (the amount of generated aerosol) depends on the size of the container and the filling factor. 2. Linear Heat Detector. A heat cable that is placed at the top of the container for fire detection. 3. Smoke Detectors which are mounted on each of the aerosol generators. 4. The control unit with independent power supply. In most cases, shipping containers are loaded to maximize the use of available space to reduce shipping costs. Because GeneFire aerosol fire suppression systems are much more efficient than other systems they are able to be installed where space is limited such as inside of shipping containers.
-
Are GeneFire aerosol fire suppression systems environmentally friendly?Yes, our aerosol fire suppression systems are listed by the the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program as a substitute for ozone-depleting substances. Our AGC has zero global warming potential, zero atmospheric life, zero ozone depletion potential and is non-toxic. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program implements section 612 of the amended Clean Air Act of 1990, which requires EPA to evaluate substitutes for the ozone-depleting substances to reduce overall risk to human health and the environment.
-
Are GeneFire Aerosol Fire Suppression Systems easy to install?Yes. Because GeneFire aerosol systems do not require piping or pressure cylinders the cost of installation is minimal and very convenient.
